Alyssa stepped from the bus onto the sidewalk. THe fall breeze swept around her as she watched the school bus speed away. THe leaves crunched beneath her feet as she walked down the sidewalk to her home. She turned the key in the door and walked into her empty home. The large two-story home was usually empty, her parents were a doctor and a lawyer so they always had somewhere else to be.

This left Alyssa and her older brother David to have the run of the house. Alyssa was 16 so she had to listen to her 17 year old brother boss her around. David was a football player and had a ton of friends. He always had a different girl at the house each weekend. The only thing that bothered Alyssa was that they shared the second floor and she had to watch them come and go.

Usually she'd spend the weekend with her best friend Mandy but she was out of town this weekend. So Alyssa had nothing to do and would be stuck at home all weekend. Alyssa sighed and walked up the stairs to her bedroom. She smoothed her tee shirt as she kicked off her shoes and sat down on her beD. she grabbed the remote and flipped on the tv. Her brother wouldn't be home for a while longer because he had football practice. alyssa pulled her long blonde hair down from her ponytail and brushed it out as she watched tv boredly, wondering what she would do all weekend long....

David came home about a half hour later than usual, though he didn't seem bothered by it. Practice had probably just run over by a bit. He entered the door without much in the way of subtlety. "Allo Alyssa." He said, hearing the TV on and knowing it was her, since their parents were away. Now if she listened, or even paid attention, it was apparent that he did not have a girl with him. Why? No one would ever know, it seemed.

He went into the kitchen and started to make some food. He paused just as he was about to make some only for himself, and went back to the stairs. "You hungry?" He asked.

She looked up as she heard his voice and she sighed, pulling herself up off the bed and slowly walking down the stairs "a little I guess" she said

David smiled. "Allright, I'll make some pasta for you." He said, heading back and putting in a bit more spaghetti than he normally would. While he usually didn't cook, he loved pasta, and practically would live off it if given the chance. Today, though, it was simple spaghetti, with some ground meat instead of meatballs. He liked it, and was pretty sure she wouldn't mind it.

David smiled at her. "So, how was your day?" He asked. He stirred the noodles for a moment before tending to the sauce he was heating up as well. He generally was a talkative person, and since she was the only one around, she was the target of his talkativeness.

He shrugged. "Nothing special. Football practice went over a little today." He said to her. "Not that I mind." He added. He kept cooking, knowing it would be ready in a moment.

she sighed softly "sounds like fun" she said kidding, she sat there watching him. He knew she didn't like him being a football player, he was the big bad football star and she was just his little sister. Most of the students didn't even know her name, just that she was David's sister. Even their parents treated her that way . She sighed, twirling her finger in her hair as she waited for the food to be done.

David smiled. "You don't have to pretend to like it if you don't want to." He said. He'd told her that a few times already. Hell, half the time, he envied her, because she didn't have to deal with the invasion of privacy and the people following him. Of course, he'd never admit that, though. He smiled, and got some plates, taking the pasta off the stove and putting it into a strainer, then putting it back into the pot to be served from. "Take what you want first." He said, offering a plate and fork to her, along with some tongs to get the pasta.

She shrugged "whatever" she said softly as she hopped off the counter and walked over to the stove, taking a small pile of spaghetti and walking over to the table and sitting down

David shrugged. He took a good part of the spaghetti, leaving just enough for perhaps lunch tomorrow. He sat at the table with her, and put some cheese on the spaghetti before beginning to eat.

she ate slowly, playing with her food a little like she always did. She slowly ate the spaghetti wiping some off her chin "it's good thanks" she said as she looked up at him

David smiled. "You're welcome. Can't have you starving." He said to her. He scarfed down the spaghetti. Slowing down and enjoying the food was a foreign concept to him it seemed. He wiped off some sauce as well, and sighed. "Mmm, the meat is really good with this..." He said happily.

He smiled, finishing in record time, something completely normal with him. He smiled, and stood, going to put away the leftovers. "So, don't you usually go to your friend's house on the weekends like this one?" He asked, confused as to why she wasn't there already.
